Terry de Havilland has been a leading light in the glamourous end of the shoe making world from the swinging sixties to the present day. Wearers of Terry’s shoes include Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Sienna Miller, Cher even the black booted Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) in the Tomb Raider films. Terry and his wife Liz work in their studio on Kingsland road, Hackney.
Since I had my recorder with me I got him talking about his fascinating life as a ‘rock ‘n’ roll cobbler’ (with the help of Liz ). Great stories of smuggling, drugs, Jackie-O-Nasus, Cher….
